A Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat may be just what you need.

Yoga and Ayurveda Retreats seek to balance and heal the body and mind by bringing awareness to daily routines and habits, diet, environment, and movement. This type of retreat can help you shed unwanted stress and let go of any unhealthy habits you may have picked up in recent years. After spending time in nature and letting go of all worries, you will leave more refreshed than ever before. Many find that it offers a holistic approach to healthy living and even a path to spiritual growth.

Ayurveda is a holistic medicine system that originated in India over 3,000 years ago. This potent Hindu healing system is also known as the science of life, something that’s reflected in the combination of Sanskrit words Ayur (life) and Veda (science or knowledge).

Ayurveda is the interconnection of all things. Ayruveda teaches us that in order to be truly healthy, we cannot just take care of our physical body- we need to address the health of the mind, body and spirit, and environment so that we can experience a state of wholeness.

According to this system, human beings are made of five basic elements: air, fire, space, earth, and water. When they mix in the human body, they form three different energies known as doshas. Before you arrive, you will complete an intake assessment of your doshas which will be used to customize your weekend stay.

During this retreat you will deepen your wellness journey with yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques that enhance calm and focus by balancing the nervous system. Practice mindful movements to balance each of the doshas and learn a simple yoga routine to start doing at home. Yoga sessions are held near the water on a custom built, 24′ deck, as well as indoor classes if the weather isn’t ideal. Highlights include: a guided waterfall hike, fire ceremony, cooking classes and special guest teachers!

The essential belief in Ayurveda is that we are what we eat. As a result, nourishing yourself with healthy food choices will improve your overall well-being. You will learn how to use food, herbs, and spices to prepare balanced meals with all the essential daily nutrients. All meals are provided and will incorporate ayurvedic principles. Guests are free to bring snacks but try to be mindful of their nutritional value.

Finally, we will create a daily selfcare routine for lasting health and happiness, including new practices that soothe and heal the body through each of the five senses. Learn balancing techniques through sound, touch, sight, taste and smell for each of the doshas.

Our cottage sleeps 8 and offers modern shared and private accommodations on Falls Lake with access to Millet Falls nature walk just minutes away. We aim to keep our retreats small and intimate so that we can offer individual attention and personal connectedness. Enjoy outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and hot tub.

Bring a book, do some journaling, paint, or simply just BE. Deep rest and relaxation is also an important part of this retreat.

All sessions are optional, and an alcohol free weekend is highly recommended for optimal detox and release. Participating and engaging whole heartedly in the full weekend experience allows you to get the most out of your stay with us.

“Mindfulness gives you time. Time gives you choices. Choices, skillfully made, lead to freedom.” – Bhante Henepola Gunara
